Navision Implementation

Navision Implementation requires a team that  has extensive knowledge of all the applications versions. The team also has to understand upper management’s vision in order to have a successful implementation.

Just hearing that term ” Navision Implementation” may frighten internal team members.  Clients First’s consultants are experienced with Navision and focus just on that product.  Just because a consultant might be familiar with a different ERP solution doesn’t mean they are experienced enough to know the unique requirements for a Navision setup. Microsoft has extensive Certification programs that require our Navision consulting team to spend countless hours studying, followed by taking dozens of exams. So choosing the right Navision implementor is critical to projects success.

Every Navision Implementation is unique. Clients First has an experienced team of systems engineers, who understand how to properly size servers and other related equipment correctly. We all know that as software gets more sophisticated and powerful, it demands better hardware to maintain top performance so this is one area not to cut corners on.

Training is one of the most important processes in the correct Implementation of Navision.  Over the life-cycle of an ERP solution, people are promoted, leave the company or make lateral moves.

We also offer a ‘boot camp’ training with the Navision Implementation Team.  This is key so they can combine their current business processes with the standard functionality of Navision. Don’t try and force all your current ways of doing business on Navision.  In most cases Navision will have an out of the box way to accomplish the same thing either as well or even better.  The less you customize your solution, the easier it is to support Navision and to upgrade Navision.

Be realistic about converting existing data.  You can always keep the old system around for lookups or print key detailed reports to PDF files and put them out on a shared network drive.

Navision Implementation can change the way a company does business.  The methodology by which thing get down will change. Work responsibilities may even get shuffled.  The sooner the whole organization understands this change coming, the faster folks will stop fighting the new system and start appreciating the improvements it will bring.  You will have to overcome the ‘that’s the way we’ve always done it’ complaint.

Navision Implementation means a true installation of the solution in a way that improves productivity of your organization.  If the goal of implementing Navision is to just replace the old ERP solution but do everything the same way, then you haven’t achieved any increase in value.

We get calls and emails regularly to help out with a company’s Navision Implementation.  Although there is often ‘two sides to every story’ we often find a few common elements with failed implementations. Some of these include: the client doesn’t prepare for and dedicate enough time to the project and their ‘day job’, lack of a project manager for both the Navision Implementation company (VAR) and the client, lack of executive support at the client, and unrealistic expectations set during the sales process.

At this point, you are now financially and emotionally invested in your Navision implementation solution.   Call us or hit the chat button below, and we will give you a no obligation ERP review to see where things went wrong and how to get you fully implemented.  We aren’t looking for ‘blame’ of fault.  Just to get your company up and running with your ERP solution and taking advantage of all the productivity and profit enhancing capabilities it has to offer.
